Owen Poses With Cabbie

This young man peddled us and another couple all afternoon. This experience was unique, and something that is not available to all tourists in Beijing. We thought it interesting to see the old neighborhood even if it was not genuinely pristine, and the government had interferred a bit in making it a bit more proper for the tourists.

The streets of Beijing were clean. They were clean everywhere we went. The Chinese are proud of their country, and serious about making a good impression on everybody.
