The Palace Hotel, Beijing

The Lobby

The Gathering Place

Our group gathered near the front doors each morning for our Beijing area tours.

Located in the middle of downtown Beijing, the Palace Hotel is a good place from which to begin day trips.

The Lobby is an Attraction

There are so many things to notice in the lobby. The archway of the grand stairway dominates the area while escalators, which move people to the shopping areas on the lower levels, flank a central waterfall. If these weren't enough to keep your attention, the grand stairway lower landings are flanked with marble replica's of the emperor's horses!

Owen Tyler poses with one of the Emperor's Horses, which flanked each of the two sides of the grand stairway. An identical staircase graces the left side of the lobby.
