The Gate Under Construction

This is a large area of burial mounds and buried armies. These armies are about half-life-size, and are later than the buried mausoleums of the life-size armies. It seems that once they decided that people didn't have to be buried alive with the emperors, then they decided that size wasn't so important either.

The rest of the pictures taken at this site just weren't interesting or good enough to preserve. But we thought the huge gateway under construction for this area was interesting.

Another View

No extra charge for the glare from the bus window. The interesting thing about this picture is that a burial mound is in view directly behind the left part of the gate construction.

We're on the way to the airport. We'll fly to Chongqing in time to board our Victoria Cruiser to spend the night. Chongqing and the Yangtze River pictures are next.
