135 Meters in Elevation

Near the village, this 135 meter sign reminds people of the expected water level in 2003. The planned top of the flood-control/power pool will be 175 meters when the project is completed in 2009. That's 120 feet higher than the level indicated by this sign.

Old and New Roads

The old road with its pretty bridge runs close to the river bank in this area, while a new one is marked with cuts high on the hillside. The Chinese haven't abandoned their elegant bridge designs, however.
