Viva La Roma!
This picture gives the feeling of arriving in Rome. From the modern tour bus we see the bustling city streets with the trolly wires over head, and there in the background, larger than life, are the awesome ruins of the Roman Imperial Palace over looking the green lawn that covers what was once the Circus Maximus where Roman charioteers once raced.
Left: Aurelian began his new walls to defend Rome in AD 271. Here is a portion of that wall.
St. Peter's Cathedral
Right: Located at the Vatican the famous basicilica is surrounded by downtown Rome.
A string of cars laces between parked cars on a narrow street.
Market in a Local Piazza
Ernst and Gertrude Meyer joined locals and tourists at the market.
