The Golden Horn near the Galata Bridge

We're looking from the old city across the Golden Horn to the new city and commercial districts.
The fleet of taxi cabs testify to the reported 10 million tourists that visit Istanbul each year.
It's time for working folks to head home and that's what's happening in the lower photo.

The tower dominating the hilltop in the background of these photos is the Galata Tower.
There's a story that the first human flight was made from this tower.
Galata fashioned wings and leaped from the tower and glided clear across the Bosphorus!
The sultan was so intimidated by this feat that he put the man to death!
