Pali Overlook, Northeast of Honolulu
Tuesday, October 10th, 2000

This is a house in Honolulu on the Pali Highway. Why pictures of common, ordinary houses? It is a part of any place one visits to see the houses of the average people. There mansions almost everywhere, but few have access to them. There are shanties of the poor almost everywhere, and they seem to look pretty much the same everywhere. But the houses of the middle class give one an idea of style and living standard.

There's a small gap in the mountains northeast of Honolulu, and they built an overlook so that people could enjoy the view of Kanoehe Bay in the distance. The mountains are so rugged and steep that they had to build tunnels to get roads across them.
