Waimea Falls Park

Wiamea Falls Park provides food service, a gift shop, entertainment, and it is a botanical garden.
Below left may be the only picture I was able to get of the interesting trees that look as if they are a cross between a banana and a palm. The leaves fan from the trunk on one plane.

These unusual trees with the leaves fanning like the fingers of a hand, are known locally as travelers palms. However, they are not part of the palm tree family. They were known to store water, and so were sometimes the only source of water available to travelers,
hence the name, travelers palms.
