ms Ryndam in Outer Harbor

Our tour takes a brief jaunt out of town. On the shore we see heavy equipment harvesting the abundant peat. Although the newer homes burn oil for heating, many of the older ones still use peat for home heating and cooking. The peat is on the surface and free to all who will mine it. Of course, if it is mined with the heavy equipment such as that working along the shore, then they have to pay for it.

She was blown ashore in a storm.
