Like their European ancestors, the Uruguayans love to commemorate people and events with scupltures in their parks.

Memorial to the Native Peoples

These young girls are depicted to represent their people. All the native people were killed by the settlers, either by design or by the European diseases they brought to the Western Hemisphere with them.
